Leftfield coming to Plymouth Pavilions (news)

Dub-dance dons Leftfield are set to visit Plymouth Pavilions this winter.

Spinning deep roots and dark drum’n'bass, fusing organic sounds and music technology to create a unique vibe, Neil Barnes and Paul Daley led the dance music charge of the early Nineties.

Need reminding? How about Open Up, Release The Pressure, Afrika Shox, Original, Song of Life, Phat Planet – the list of classics is endless.

Now back in 2010, Neil Barnes is joined by original vocalists Djum Djum, Earl 16 and Cheshire Cat plus Adam Wren (keyboards), Jess Mills (vocals) and Sebastian Beresford (drums), replacing Paul Daley who is currently working on other recording projects.

Famous for their bowel-loosening sound system, fans can expect all the bangers from two of the finest dance albums of the last 20 years, Leftism and Rhythm & Stealth.

Last seen in the region for Relentless Boardmasters 2010 earlier this month, Neil said ahead of the festival: “The opportunity to take the band out again once more with the sound system and some of the original singers and perform the songs again to a whole new audience is an opportunity that I simply couldn’t turn down.

“The goodwill surrounding the live show has overwhelmed me. The expectation is tremendous. I simply can’t wait to blow everybody away. Literally!”

Leftfield hit Plymouth Pavilions on November 29. Tickets for the show (over 16s only) cost £24 and go on sale on September 3 from the Pavilions website.
