The X Factor star Olly Murs is coming to Plymouth next year as part of his first solo live tour.
The singer, who went straight to number one with his debut single Please Don’t Let Me Go earlier this year, will play 20 dates across the UK, including a show at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.
His new single, Thinking of Me, is out now, and his debut self-titled album is released on November 29.
Since making The X Factor final last year, Olly has positioned himself as one of the newest names in pop – not bad for someone who prior to the hit show was working in a call centre.
He last visited the region back in July for a performance at the Air Show on Plymouth Hoe.
Plymouth Pavilions‘ marketing officer Robert Maltby told SouthWestShows: “Olly Murs is certainly one of the hottest names in pop at the moment.
“I expect his profile will get even bigger when the new album is released – especially if the first two fantastic singles are anything to go by.
“It’s great to welcome him back to the city with a large scale production in our arena.”
Olly Murs hits Plymouth Pavilions on May 14, 2011. Tickets cost £26.50 (maximum of six per customer) and go on sale at 9am on November 26, 2010 from the Pavilions website.
