Michael McIntyre to play two special 'warm-up' shows at Plymouth Pavilions (news)

Comedian Michael McIntyre is set to play two special ‘warm-up’ shows at Plymouth Pavilions in 2012.

The tour, his third, will be the biggest UK arena tour to date for the judge on Britain’s Got Talent and winner of the 2010 British Comedy Award for Best Male TV Comic.

Michael McIntyre‘s spot on observational comedy and trademark ability to turn everyday situations into master-classes of human exasperation have struck chords with millions of fans, resolutely cementing him as one of the UK’s most loved and treasured comedy performers today.

Two of his DVDs have become best-sellers, one being the fastest-selling stand-up DVD ever, and in 2009 he performed to more than 500,000 people during a sell-out tour.

His popularity earned him a prime-time spot on BBC1 in 2009 and 2010 with Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow.

Last year, McIntyre released his autobiography, Life and Laughing: My Story, and also became the youngest-ever host of the Royal Variety Performance.

A DVD of the 2012 arena tour will be released by Universal Pictures (UK) in November 2012.

Michael McIntyre hits Plymouth Pavilions on August 17 and 18, 2012. Tickets cost £30 and go on sale at 10am on July 22, 2011 from the Pavilions website.
