Veteran funnyman Barry Cryer is set to visit Hall for Cornwall this autumn with his new show, Butterfly Brain.
Join old Baz on an alphabetical, hypothetical journey from A to Z. Have you noticed that all the letters in the alphabet are in the right order?
A stream of unconsciousness and sit down comedy, come with him as he embarks on an odyssey of oddities from Aardvark to Zulu…
Flabbergasted means appalled at how much weight you’ve gained! For the first time, he can claim to be a man of letters, even including X. Bear with him – or Winnie the Pooh and Tigger as they were known.
One of the country’s greatest comic writers, Barry has appeared in TV and radio shows spanning four decades, and is star of Radio 4′s top-rated comedy quiz show I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.
He has written gags for some of the true legends of comedy, including Morecambe and Wise, Tommy Cooper, Stanley Baxter, Dick Emery, Dave Allen, Les Dawson, Bob Hope, George Burns, the Two Ronnies, Kenny Everett, Sir Harry Secombe, Billy Connolly, Jasper Carrott and Richard Pryor. He was made an OBE for services to comedy drama in 2001.
He’ll be joined at Hall for Cornwall by I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue pianist Colin Sell.
Barry Cryer brings Butterfly Brain to Hall for Cornwall in Truro on October 14, 2011. Tickets cost £17/£15 from the HfC website.
