Hotly-tipped singer-songwriter Ben Howard is set to visit Plymouth Pavilions and Colston Hall Bristol this autumn as part of his biggest UK tour to date.
Ben’s February UK tour is completely sold out and includes a show at Truro’s Hall for Cornwall on February 13, 2012. He then heads out to SXSW in March ahead of his debut US tour.
Fans in the region have no doubt witnessed Ben’s rise since making his mark in the South West in the early days.
Ben Howard is a man out of step with the troublesome nature of modernity. He no longer bothers with mobile phones (he’s lost three to date!), he doesn’t own a TV, and he finds this social networking malarkey irksome.
What Ben lacks in modern nous, he compensates for in the intricacies and fresh approach to his guitar playing. Blindly thrashing three chords isn’t his style, and the mesmerising finger picking technique that he merges with creating beats via a deft rap of his knuckles on the instrument is something quite special.
Having only signed his record deal with Island Records at the beginning of 2011, Ben has already accrued a hefty fanbase across the UK and Europe through sheer persistent touring, and the word of mouth support that followed.
Debut album, Every Kingdom, released last September, reached number seven in the UK album chart. His new single, The Wolves, is released on February 27.
Support for the November tour will come from Willy Mason.
