Roland Gift to join Jools Holland at Colston Hall Bristol and Plymouth Pavilions (news)

Fine Young Cannibals frontman Roland Gift will join Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra at Colston Hall Bristol and Plymouth Pavilions in 2012.

Roland Gift had huge success with Fine Young Cannibals during the Eighties with a number one UK album, 1988’s The Raw And The Cooked, and two number one hit singles, She Drives Me Crazy and Good Thing.

The latter single holds the honour of being the most successful record that Jools Holland has ever guested on, after it went number one in 17 countries.

Roland starred in the movies Sammy And Rosie Get Laid and Scandal, and in 1990, was named by People magazine as one of the ’50 Most Beautiful People’ in the world.

With long-time guest vocalists Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall along with trombonist Rico Rodriguez and the inimitable musicianship of the Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, Jools will perform tracks spanning his entire solo career as well as songs taken from his last album Rockinghorse which was released in 2010.

Roland Gift will join Jools Holland and his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra at Colston Hall Bristol on November 9, 2012, and Plymouth Pavilions on December 14, 2012. Tickets for the Plymouth show go on sale at 10am on February 10, 2012.
