Top Of The Pops Live, a new theatre production aiming to capture the spirit of the iconic TV show, is set to visit Bristol Hippodrome in 2013.
Top Of The Pops is becoming a stage show six years after it was axed from television.
Produced by the team behind the Michael Jackson production Thriller Live, the show promises a cast of singers, dancers, fantastic music, presenters and a live band, together with some memorable material from the BBC‘s Top Of The Pops TV vaults.
The show is a nostalgic interactive jukebox celebrating the greatest hits by the biggest stars in the world of pop from the Seventies, Eighties and Nineties – from T-Rex and David Bowie, to Blondie and Adam And The Ants, Duran Duran and Madonna, to Oasis and Blur.
Also paying homage to the DJs who introduced the programme and to the resident dance troupes, Pan’s People and Legs & Co, Top Of The Pops Live will offer a fabulous feast of musical nostalgia.
The much-loved show was a viewing staple for 42 years until it was dropped in 2006 after falling audiences.
Top Of The Pops Live is at Bristol Hippodrome from March 11 to 16, 2013. Tickets are on sale now.
