Australian singer Julia Stone is set to visit Princess Pavilion Falmouth and Thekla Bristol this winter as part of her first-ever solo tour.
Julia Stone, known internationally as the sister half of the brother-sister duo, Angus & Julia Stone, is taking off on her maiden solo voyage to play songs from her new album By The Horns.
Debuting at number 11 in the Australian Album Chart back in May, her second solo collection features sublime arrangements, Julia’s distinct evocative vocals, and great production courtesy of Thomas Bartlett and Patrick Dillett (Antony & The Johnsons, The National).
By The Horns signals a great transition – an introduction of Julia Stone as a singular artist of her own voice, the birth of a mature voice of formidable strength and delicate insight, out of the shadow of past successes.
It is also the product of the same hiatus that birthed little brother Angus’s forthcoming Broken Brights album.
Julia says of temporarily parting with Angus: “We had already been working on a new record together but it didn’t feel right…
“Then Angus and I were talking on the phone and he’d been working on more stuff on his own as well and we both just agreed – we were both in the same place, ready to put together a collection of our own songs.”
