Simply Red star Mick Hucknall is bringing his first-ever solo tour, titled American Soul, to Colston Hall Bristol in 2013.

The solo shows hail the beginning of a new chapter for Mick Hucknall after the final curtain fell on Simply Red at their triumphant sell-out Farewell Tour in 2010.

This new tour announcement follows great demand for tickets to the preview shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall this September.

The special and intimate concerts will see Hucknall showcasing his forthcoming album American Soul, featuring his take on classic songs which have inspired him throughout his life.

The start of Hucknall’s solo career gives him free rein to record, together on one album, his favourites from his own personal journey through the American soul genre, including classic songs such as I Only Have Eyes For You, I’d Rather Go Blind, and That’s How Strong My Love Is.

Hucknall is renowned for his great interpretations of others’ songs, having already had global hits with Money’s Too Tight To Mention, If You Don’t Know Me By Now, and You Make Me Feel Brand New.

Mick Hucknall hits Colston Hall Bristol on April 22, 2013. Tickets go on sale at 9am on July 27, 2012.
