Howler, The Cast of Cheers and Gross Magic are set to visit Thekla Bristol this autumn as part of the NME Generation Next Tour.
Minnesota-based indie-rockers Howler, pictured, have been handpicked by NME to headline their newly-announced Generation Next Tour.
The band released their critically-acclaimed debut album, America Give Up, back in January.
Frontman Jordan Gatesmith – one of NME’s 50 Coolest People in 2011 – said: “We have our abandoned our hometown of Minneapolis for a lifetime on the road. But that’s okay – rest is for the weak.
“The UK has been good to us this year and we’re looking forward to turning young people of Britain into a sweaty and excitable mess. See you in October.”
Irish combo The Cast Of Cheers combine tight guitar riffs with stomping drum beats, resulting in infectious three-minute songs. Foals and Two Door Cinema Club watch out – math rock has never sounded so good!
The sound of Brighton’s Gross Magic recalls the pop sensibility of ELO, the grunge riffs of early Nirvana, the carefree adolescence of Loser-era Beck and the lo-fi production of Ariel Pink.
The NME Generation Next Tour hits Thekla Bristol on October 20, 2012. Tickets go on sale at 9am on August 3, 2012.
