Disney’s hit musical The Lion King is set to visit Theatre Royal Plymouth in 2014 as part of a record-breaking nationwide tour. Pop-rockers Texas will celebrate their 25th anniversary at Colston Hall Bristol and Plymouth Pavilions this winter. Colours Of India, Sculptures From Devon, with work by Diane Hemingway and Jean Lock, is at Harbour House in Kingsbridge this summer. Nineties boyband Blue are set to visit O2 Academy Bristol and Plymouth Pavilions this autumn as part of a new UK tour. Vibrant Images, Vibrant Artists, with work by Cherry Lyons, Wendy Chudley and Jenni Pentecost, is at Harbour House in Kingsbridge this summer. Indie-rockers Babyshambles, led by Peter Doherty, are set to visit O2 Academy Bristol and Exeter University Great Hall this autumn. Nineties boyband Five (aka 5ive) are set to play their ‘greatest hits’ at Plymouth Pavilions this winter. The Classical Masters Series got off to a flying start with an outstanding concert by the Ten Tors Orchestra and violinist Leland Chan. Review by Philip R Buttall.
